The Fred Ebb Foundation and the Roundabout Theatre Company have announced that this year's fifth annual Fred Ebb Award will recognize Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, The Fred Ebb Foundation announced Thursday.

The author-composer team has been working together since 1993 and most recently received critical acclaim for their production "Dear Edwina." Their CD "Marcy and Zina: The Album" was released Nov. 3 on Yellow Sound Label.

The Fred Ebb Award is given to musical theater songwriters in recognition for excellence by a lyricist, composer, or songwriting team that "has not yet achieved significant commercial success," according to a statement. The award, which includes a prize of $50, 000, aims to encourage and support the creation of new works. Winners are selected by Sheldon Harnick, David Loud, Debra Monk, Tim Pickney, Arthur Whitelaw, and foundation trustee Mitchell Bernard.
